Cute little guy, huh? The Trauco is a humanoid creature, similar to a goblin, who lives in the forests of Chiloé, an island in southern Chile. He’s small and has legs but no feet. According to legend, he has an ugly, wicked wife named Fiura.
No woman can resist his sexual magnetism. Really. Whichever woman he chooses falls enraptured by him, having sex without resistance. The men of Chiloé fear the Trauco, because of his deadly gaze.
If a single woman becomes pregnant and no man claims to be the father of the child, it’s assumed the Trauco did it. She is held blameless, since no woman can resist him.
Sudden or unwanted pregnancies are laid at the (non) feet of this creature, especially among the unmarried women. Rather convenient, actually.
